Message in a Bottle

Who have thought that empty bottles could turn into something unique craft?

This craft is a wedding give a way, specially made by the couple themselves. I was really impressed of the creativeness done to the bottle. Lately I’ve been thinking of what to do with the empty wine bottles since we cannot sell it. Actually, I have lots of ideas back in my mind, including flower vase. It’s actually included on my To-do-list.

Back in my college days I also did a craft similar to this one. I’m using a plastic bottle and painted it with orange. But the output is not as good as this one. I promise, one of these days, I’m gonna make a craft similar to it. I’m still trying to figure out how they did it.

Perhaps, I’ll add it to my To-do List.

 A closer look

So what’s the message in the bottle?

In a simple little way we can contribute on how to save earth. Like what I said in my previous post, Bead Organizer, always think twice before you throw scraps. There are lots of things you can do on it. Just explore the creativity in your mind. And I’m pretty sure you’ll discover ideas beyond your imagination.

Ribbon Bulletin Board

I saw this craft at Art Angel, a program of one network station in Philippines - GMA. I was inspired to make one.  I love the craft idea and since there are ribbons from the corsage, wedding invitations and gifts we received so I just reuse it and made a wonderful bulletin board out of it.

Black frame bought at EPZA, Rosario Cavite during Christmas Bazaare 2006. At Art Angel, they were using cardboard to make the frame.

I installed it inside my cabinet at the back of the [cabinet] door. This actually my Goal Bulletin Board. I’m posting some pictures and statements that will remind me of my goals and dreams in life.

The Moon (part 2???)

Another picture of moon?

Well I’m trying to capture someone.

Wanna know who it is?

(LOL …..)

Someone who has crumbled hair,

pointed nose,

pointed chin like a quarter moon,

wearing all black with a pointed hat,

and riding on a broom

with the moon as its background.

Get it?

(LOL…)

Yes, a witch!!!!

(LOL…)

Nope I’m just joking.

I just love the moon,

Standing still on a silence milieu.

.

.

Soon as the evening shades prevail,

The moon takes up the wondrous tale,

And nightly to the listening earth Repeats the story of her birth.

Joseph Addison

The moon is at her full, and riding high,

Floods the calm fields with light.

The airs that hover in the summer sky Are all asleep to-night.

Bead Organizer

This is my sister’s bead organizer. It’s a challenge for me to arrange all beads according to size, color, and style. But since there is no enough space for every type so I was challenge to look for an alternative container.

I found this empty plastic box as an option to organize the beads. The plastic container is actually the packaging of banaba tea.

The result…..

The plastic container can also be use as your accessories organizer. Actually, there are many ways to utilize the plastic container. Just be creative.

So the next time you throw scraps think twice, you might find a use for it.

The Moon

This picture is taken last June 6.

A moon reminds me of my nephew, Jay, who was eagerly reciting a poem about the moon.
He was three years old then.

The Moon

Look et [at] the moon
Shining up there
Oh! Mother, It looks like
a lamp in the air.

The Old Gimelena Tree

2009 – It’s been a decade since we graduated from high school at Don Manuel A. Javellana Memorial National High School. So to celebrate our 10th year reunion we decided to hold it at our Alma matter. It was really a great experience. It reminds us of good memories and even bad memoirs, a common experience which I think help us grow and keep us reunited after so many years. Each one of us has its own recollection of our high school lives. Like the Gimelena tree in the picture has its own stories to tell.

For more than a decade, I’m wondering how many students had passed by in this tree? How many lovers dare to sit in between of its branches sharing what love means to them? How many laughter and secrets do this tree heard? How many students expressed their anger to this tree? Perhaps the poor tree experienced a lot of beating and hardship. But despite of that the tree grows old more beautiful than ever. Look at it!!!

Like our relationship with our batch mates as years passed by, maybe we grew older by age and physical appearances but our memories are still young like when we were once strangers to the place and to each other more than 10 years ago. Like the old Gimelena tree our relationship rooted and even grew deeper and more wonderful than ever.

A Cocktail Dress for Barbie

I am fond of crocheting. It’s actually one of my hobbies and I consider it as my forte. But I abandoned my crochet materials after I graduated from high school. Not because I don’t like to do it but it just that I chose a different path - that is trying to figure out how electronic circuit works. Well it simple means I chose to study electronics engineering.

It’s been a decade since I deserted my crochet hook. But since this blog, “COLOUR,” was born I cannot stop my mind from overflowing of craft ideas. This blog revive my passion to create, to craft, and to draw….

After a decade I thought I forgot to crochet but let me show to you my first project for this blog shown in the picture. It’s a cocktail dress for Barbie. It’s pretty hard especially the lower part. I think I need to crochet more to reborn my so called my-forte.
